The CATS need your help to make it a great year! Please consider joining a committee to give a few hours of your time to help with our programs and activities. There are a lot of ways to help – join in and meet your fellow Sabercat families.

 

 

 

 

 

Events & Activities Committee

Date: October 31, 2017

The committee will be responsible for planning and implementing monthly activities including: fundraising events, team building activities, community outreach events, player/family activities and special events (e.g. Senior Night, End of Year Banquet, Picture Day and others). Are you creative, good with people/event planning/organisation/budgeting and herding cats?  This committee is central to the success of the year and to making it a fun and memorable one.  We have a lot of events to plan and implement, so we need a lot of people to both lead and participate to ensure the success of all.

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, plus many other members. A member of the Executive Board will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.

The committee will interact with the Board, the Head Coach and Coaching Staff and other Diamond Club committees and/or members as needed as well as Sabercat baseball families.

Fundraising Committee

Date: September 30, 2018

The committee will be responsible for generating income via specific activities and donations to meet the 2017-2018 revenue goal. Fundraising will include banner sales, online initiatives (such as Snap!Raise), tax credit education and promotion, and other such efforts as may be considered and approved.  This committee is critical to the success of the program. If you're well connected, not afraid to pick up the phone, or good with online research, organization, sales and/or making the ask, we need your help!

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, and 4-6 other members. A member of the Executive Board will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.

The committee will interact with the Board, the Treasurer, the Events & Activities Committees and other committees and/or Diamond Club members as needed.

Field Ops Committee

Date: September 30, 2019

The committee will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the development, maintenance and improvement of the Sabercat baseball facilities: fields, batting cages, bullpens, dugouts, storage and maintenance facilities.  Coordination and assistance with pre-season dugout, bleachers and sheds refresh/clearout, pre-season hanging and post-season storage of sponsor and team banners, assisting Coaches with implementation of capital improvements and procurement of equipment as needed, ensuring safe guest/spectator facilities.  Not a lot heavy work, just occasional hands-on.  This group will help Coach and the grounds team ensure our facilities are ready for the season and remain in winning condition.

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, and at least 3-4 other members. A member of the Executive Board will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.

The committee will interact with the Board, the Head Coach and Coaching Staff and other Diamond Club committees and/or members as needed.

Spirit Wear & Merchandise

Date: September 30, 2018

The committee will be responsible for the selection and logistics of for-sale merchandise and spirit wear for parents, families, athletes and supporters. Evaluation of and negotiation with vendors, pricing and recommendations for sale items, coordination with webmaster and/or sales outlets.   We need early help to organize the effort of outfitting our CATS family.  Help us to select the right merchandise to ensure our supporters are proudly wearing the gold and black!

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, and at least 3 other members (one per team). The Secretary will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.

The committee will interact with the Board, the Head Coach and other Diamond Club committees and players/parents/families as needed.

Team Liaisons

Date: September 30, 2018

The committee will comprise a minimum of 3 people to serve as primary contacts for each team (Freshman, JV, Varsity) and to act as a liaison between the Executive Board and the player families of each team. Team Liaisons will support communications to foster team spirit and parent/family/fan participation in events and activities, and work with Media & Photo Committee to ensure photography/video coverage of games at each level. This is a great way to get to know your fellow parents as well as the coaching staff and Diamond Club members!

The committee should comprise 3-6 (or more) members.  Liaisons will interact with the Board, the Events & Activities Committee, the Communications/Marketing/PR and Media/Photo Committees, and other Diamond Club committees and/or members as needed.

Scores & Stats Committee

Date: September 30, 2018

The committee will establish team profiles and complete rosters on Game Changer for each team, secure game roster/lineup information from coaches, and ensure scorekeeping is provided at each game as a primary or backup to dugout/Coach scoring. Provision of stats as may be requested, training official scorers on Game Changer for consistent scorekeeping, assist Coaches with informing and populating online stats services as may be required.  You know the game; this is a great way to get to know players and parents, support the teams and help those who are following online.

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, and enough members with knowledge of, or willing to be trained on, Game Changer, and of a sufficient number to provide cover at all games.  A member of the Executive Board will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.

The committee will interact with the Board, the Head Coach and Coaching Staff and other Diamond Club committees and/or members as needed.

Media & Photo

Date: September 30, 2018

The committee will be responsible for ensuring photographic/video coverage of all teams to document the season and provide stills and footage for (a) the website and social media, (b) marketing/PR purposes, (c) individual player photographs, and (d) team highlight videos.  Candids of players, practices, pre-game warm ups, batting cage and bullpen sessions, coaches, fans, great plays/outs/runs, and group and individual photos are needed of ALL PLAYERS.  We want to capture the action and the fun of Sabercat baseball - from the outfield to the batter's box and dugout.  Got a smartphone? You can help! Got a long lens or video camera and a good eye? We need you!

The committee should comprise a Chairperson or two Co-Chairs, and enough members to ensure adequate coverage of all teams throughout the season.  A member of the Executive Board will serve as Liaison to support the committee and report on progress and requests, etc. to the Board.
